Student Progress Checks

This week (Monday 12th - Friday 16th August), teachers completed Student Progress Checks for all VCE and VCAL students.  Although it is very early in the term, the purpose of the VCE/VCAL Student Progress Checks is to identify whether students are progressing satisfactorily in all subjects, in terms of their VCE or VCAL attendance and academic performance.  All students Student Progress Check reports will be posted on Compass early next week.

Students who are ‘at risk’ are expected to redeem before Term 3 reports are published in the final week of this term.

What does redemption look like?

For unsatisfactory academic performance, the student needs to talk to the relevant teacher/s to find out what work it is that they need to do demonstrate successful outcomes.

BE PROACTIVE…… don’t wait for the teacher to approach you.  YOU WANT TO PASS, SO YOU NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR DOING WHAT IT TAKES.  This may involve: completing coursework, homework, completing SACs, and/or attending lunch time or after school catch up sessions.

For unsatisfactory attendance (where a student has attended less than 85% of classes, in any subject), the student will need to attend redemption session at lunchtimes, in the Senior Centre.  Letters will be sent home with students in this case.

IF A STUDENT DOES NOT REDEEM, THEY WILL RECEIVE A NOT-SATISFACTORY (N) RESULT FOR THE UNIT.
