New Instrumental Music Teachers join the team

The Instrumental Music Program is up and running as it grows so too has our team. While we were sorry to see Mr Streeter leave us to study, we have his Guitar Teacher, Mr Tim Matthew replace him who is also teaching Bass and Drumkit here every Friday. Ms Natalie Giaccotto has returned from leave for one day per week to take voice lessons on Thursday’s. On Wednesday’s we have our specialist Concert Band Teachers, Mr Hugh Mckelvey teaching Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, Horns, Tuba), and Ms Geraldine Rosier teaching Woodwind (Flute, Clarinet, Saxophones) and senior Piano students. On Tuesdays, Ms Renata Robinson will continue to teach Violin and Piano. I will continue to teach a variety of instruments including Contemporary Bands and Contemporary Vocal Groups. The team is a wealth of expert teachers and professional musicians and the music department is thrilled to have them on Board.

 

Call Out for New Contemporary Bands Program

We are calling out for bands who would like to join the program. If you are a team of Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys and Voice or part of, please come see me so that I can time table you in to weekly sessions together on a rotating basis – so you never miss the same class within the term.  Build repertoire of your choice and get you prepared to record on our annual CD as well perform at concerts, assemblies and any performance tours.

 

Call Out for New Electronic Music Program in Digital Suite 500

We are keen to help you develop song writing in your chosen genre be that Hip Hop, RAP, or any style. If you would like to join the program and develop your digital composition skills pls come see me and sign up for weekly sessions on a rotating basis – so you never miss the same class within the term. Collaborate with other composers and distribute your music on social media platforms.

 

State Schools Spectacular Mass Choir

Ms Robinson will lead 20 selected voice students from Lalor Secondary College to join this program and I’m thrilled to be part of it. As one of the largest recurring productions in Australia, the Victorian State Schools Spectacular brings together over 3000 school students performing as a 64 piece orchestra, 1300 voice choir, 1200 mass dancers, 30 lead vocalists, 16 principal dancers, 20 ensemble dancers, eight backing vocalists, roller skaters and puppeteers and much more. Participating students have the opportunity to work with industry professionals including Creative Director Neill Gladwin, Musical Director Chong Lim AM and Dance Director Deon Nuku, (Scooby Doo, Happy Feet, Moulin Rouge).
