2023 DEBUTANTE BALLS

2023 DEBUTANTE BALLS

The last two weekends in July saw 23 very excited Debutantes and their partners celebrate the highly successful St Joseph’s College Debutante Balls at Club Da Vinci. Over the two weeks approximately 800 guests were greeted by glittering vases of peacock feathers, pampas grass, and eucalypt leaves decorating the venue. The image of the peacock was everywhere, including the beautiful backdrop which highlighted the students upon their presentation. With its unique beauty, the peacock is a symbol of grace, strength, and confidence – a tribute to each of the Debutantes presented.

A snippet from Miss Andy Higgins' speech:

'Looking around the room tonight, I can feel the love you all have for these amazing young people. Some of you will have special memories of the first time they walked, rode a bike, cooked a meal, or even when you met at school. And tonight, seeing them here is another precious milestone as they grow into truly remarkable young adults. Parents, grandparents, family, and friends, you should all be so very proud of each one of your debutantes and partners as they dance their way into the future. Those who have nurtured and loved them over the years, as you all sit here tonight, watching your most precious children participate in the Deb, they are truly a credit to you all.

And finally, I would like to thank these incredible young men and women standing here with me tonight. Your excitement, energy and confidence are what keeps the tradition of the Debutante Ball alive and thriving at St Joseph’s College.'
