VINES INTERACTION WITH ST JOSEPH'S COLLEGE

What a privilege to spend time with St Joseph's College Year 11 students on Wednesday 21 June.

It was great to see the interaction between the 'Village People' and the students as they shared the changes and challenges over the years, particularly in technology with the phone being one of the main topics. The progression from party lines, plug and cord switchboards, dials, push button models, and those that were wall mounted preceding the mobile phone and numerous apps of today. Thank you Jan and Barry for providing a sample of an older version telephone with 'mobility' extending to the length of cord!

Another highlight was enjoying the light refreshments which were baked by Haydn Collins (teacher and caterer) and the students. Overall, the feedback from all participants was very positive.

Given the success of the activity, Haydn is considering more activities of this nature. He will be looking for other Village members to participate in future events of this kind.
