Flourish

At HCC, our desire is to empower our young people to grow and flourish in all areas of their lives – academic, spiritual, social, emotional and physical. To help facilitate this, on Friday July 28, students in Grade 5/6 participated in Flourish. This special whole-day event was set aside to inform, equip and address some of the complexities that our wonderful students in these year levels are beginning to experience as they enter the next phase of their childhood.

The day included a mix of games, videos and discussions in a safe and supportive environment. We covered the topics of friendships, emotional and physical body changes (separating into gender groups where appropriate) and Paul Wheel (Head of Wellbeing) also spoke with students on the topic of Mental Health. The day was a great success, with students engaged and appreciative of the content covered - they also loved the sausage sizzle for lunch!
