Just a reminder…
Our Big Questions are aligned to the Victoria Curriculum, responsive to our student’s interests, and dynamic in nature. Our talented teachers make transdisciplinary connections where possible to ensure the learning is authentic and meaningful to our students.
EPS utilises the inquiry-based learning model, along with our instruction model, to enable students to grow their critical and creative thinking skills. This teaching and learning approach allows students to develop their abilities to ask questions, design investigations, interpret evidence, form explanations and communicate findings.
This term whole school is shining a spotlight on the Learner Asset of ‘Contributor’. At EPS we focus on the following 6 Learner Assets:
These assets underpin the development of lifelong learners and equip our students to deal with unfamiliar situations as they arise. One of our Strategic Goals is to ‘Empower students to be active agents in their learning.’ Research shows that by assisting our students to develop the micro-skills that lead to becoming proficient with the learner assets, will assist them to become agentic learners.

A big EPS thank you to Jacqui Banks, our School Council President for speaking to the Year 3/4 students about their Big Question, 'How do we use the land and who decides?'
Another big thank you to the parents/carers who have donated their time to enable classes to go on excursions. These excursions are meticulously researched and planned to deepen students' understanding of the Big Questions.
