Teaching and Learning in 3B

We have had a wonderful start to Term 3 in 3B.

Students were all very excited to hear that we won the greatest number of Nude Food lunchboxes for Term 2 in the senior school. 3B chose to celebrate their victory with a movie afternoon. We watched the movie ‘Rio’ and enjoyed eating popcorn, lollies and drinking cordial. A special mention to our Sustainability Monitors who do an amazing job everyday recording our Nude Food lunchboxes.

In literacy students have been looking at a variety of persuasive texts including ‘Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus’, ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ and ‘I Wanna Iguana’ and exploring the language which authors use to try to persuade the readers.

Students have been practising their own persuasive writing, focusing on using the correct structure in their writing to persuade the audience to agree with their arguments using strong emotive and opinion words.

Students selected a product which they were familiar with to write a persuasive writing piece in which they tried to convince Mrs. Bear to buy their item. Students then designed a poster to advertise their product using a catchy slogan and bright logo.

Students in 3B also enjoyed celebrating Mrs. Bear’s birthday with a fun class party.
