Italian

Ciao a tutti

Ciao a tutti,

‘Parliamo’ Let’s Talk! What ‘fantastico’ conversations we are having in Italian this week!

This week, Year 5 and 6 students have been building on their everyday conversation to include physical descriptions and parts of the body. Students have been writing their descriptions of themselves, their interests, leisure activities, feelings, and preferences. They used drawings and new language to extend on phrases to introduce themselves by describing their physical appearance as well as describing others. Students also worked in groups to create a classroom graph asking and replying to their classmates’ questions about what pets they have at home. What amazing work and well done on the new words/phrases that were learnt this week! Eccellente!

Year 3 and 4 students have been asking and responding to questions about topics such as age, family, and likes/dislikes. This week students have learnt how to talk about themselves: their physical descriptions, age and their pets. In pairs, they also enjoyed drawing and describing each other in Italian.

Year 1 and 2 students also extended their everyday conversation to include talking about themselves. This week students had fun improving their fluency and pronunciation by recording their conversation using iPads. They also learnt about ‘animali’ and talked to their classmates about their pets. They also learnt that animal sound words are slightly different in Italian.

Foundation students revised ‘i colori’ in Italian with the help of Carmine and Cornetta the unicorn video which they watched and interacted with, in the Italian classroom. We also played a Tombola/Bingo game and the children created their own Tombola board. Bene fatto! Well done Foundation!

Saluti,
