SCHOOL FEE PAYMENT SCAM
There have been recent media reports in relation to a school fee related scam. The basic premise is that parents are called by a scammer pretending to be from school, offering a 30 per cent discount on fees if they pay straight away via credit card. The parent gives their credit card details and invoice details, and the scammer uses this information to complete the scam and obtain funds fraudulently. Please be aware of any calls of this nature. This practice is outside our Fees Policy and we will never make calls of this nature to you - we do not offer discounts specifically for credit card payments. If you do receive a call similar to this and you are unsure about it, please advise the caller that you will call the school to verify. Then please call the BHCS Finance Department on 9754 6435 to inform us.
ILLNESS DURING WINTER
We remind families to please keep children at home if they are sick. This will help reduce the spread of illness while also helping to reduce absenteeism among students and staff due to illness.
AGM OF BHCS PARENTS & FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
The next Annual General Meeting of the Belgrave Heights Christian School Parents & Friends Association will be held in the Restaurant at BHCS on Monday, August 7 at 3.45pm.
Belgrave Heights Christian School is operated by an Incorporated Association consisting of eleven members (the School Council) who are appointed by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria.
The School Council has the overall responsibility of governing, overseeing the affairs of, and making strategic decisions in relation to the School. The Parents & Friends Association is an auxiliary of the School Council and its members are able to nominate four parents to be considered for appointment to the Council.
The purpose of this meeting of the Parents and Friends Association is to elect four parents to be nominated for Council positions. The Council invites parents to become members of the Association and to participate in the nomination process. All nominations need to be submitted on a nomination form and meet the required criteria as set out on the form, this information was emailed to all families.
All nominations must be received by the Secretary, Mr Ian Byles, care of Juliette Krens, PA to the Principal, seven days prior to the meeting, Monday, July 31, 2023.

STUDENT FREE DAY/PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Please note that Friday 18 August is no longer a student free day. This student free day will now take place on Tuesday, 29th August on which day Parent- Teacher Interviews will take place throughout the day and evening.
Information on how to book parent- teacher interviews will be distributed soon.

BHCS CANTEEN
PREP – YEAR 5: The canteen is available for lunch orders on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays. Primary students (Prep - Year 5) may pre-order lunch orders via the Flexischools app only. No window service.
YEAR 6 - YEAR 12: Are welcome to order at the canteen window during recess and lunch breaks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
TREETOPS CAFE
The Café will be running every day except Wednesday. Senior students (Year 7 -12) are able to order food from the Café during break times. Only Year 11 & 12 students may use the tables and chairs in the Café.
