SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

ELC EXCELS: EXCEEDING NATIONAL QUALITY STANDARDS ASSESSMENT

By Juliette Krens (Systems & Compliance Manager / PA to the Principal)

Earlier this year our Early Learning Centre (ELC) was required to undertake its Assessment and Rating visit by the regulatory body of Victoria. All education and care services in Australia participate in this process. This involves being assessed and then rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS). The NQS sets a high national benchmark for all early childhood education services and comprises of 7 quality areas, which are:

  1. Educational program and practice
  2. Children’s health and safety
  3. Physical environment
  4. Staffing arrangements
  5. Relationships with children
  6. Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
  7. Governance and leadership

We are incredibly pleased to let our school community know that our ELC has been awarded the rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standards for each of the above quality areas. In order to achieve a rating of Exceeding, a service must demonstrate that practices embedded in our service operations are exceeding. This is informed by critical reflection and is shaped by meaningful engagement with families and/or the community.

As a school we extend our congratulations to the entire Kinder team and our Kinder Director, Kirsty Meese.

PATHWAYS INFORMATION EVENING: SETTING UP STUDENTS FOR A BRIGHT FUTURE

By Michelle Farrand (VCE Coordinator) & Andrew Ware (VCE VM & VET Coordinator)

Thank you to all the families who joined us at the Pathways Information Evening earlier this week. The event aimed to provide students and parents with insights into VCE and VCE VM options.

Families learned about these pathways along with all the VCE subjects, VET, and School-Based Apprenticeships (SBATs). Families were also introduced to our fantastic Careers support. They had the chance to explore various subjects and interact with teachers.

It was great to see so many of our Year 10 families and interested Year 9 families in attendance.

We appreciate your active participation and ongoing partnership in your child's education. Your engagement will undoubtedly make a significant difference in supporting their Year 11 and 12 journeys. We encourage you to reflect on the information gained during the evening to make informed decisions about your child's future and to get in touch with us should you have any further questions.

Just a quick reminder that the slideshow from the night can now be found on the Pathways website and also that Subject Selection interviews for Year 10 Students will take place from Monday 31st July to Friday 4th August.
