School Council President's Message

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Well who would have thought we would be here again? Week 2 of another lockdown, and more remote learning for our children. As was the case in 2020 the wonderful teaching & admin team at RPS have responded with flexibility & positivity, supporting both the learning and wellbeing of our children. On behalf of all the RPS families, I thank you.

To all the students, hang in there – hopefully you will all be together again on site very shortly. I have seen so many of you from our community out and about at the park and exercising and as always I am blown away by your resilience and positivity in this time.

To our families, I really do hope we are all able to socialise and chat at the school gates some time soon but in the meantime remember to take time each day to look after your own well-being. The stress of juggling work, home learning & just life in general is extremely intense and you do need to make those moments for yourselves.

From a school council perspective this obviously puts many plans on hold once again, but we will continue to do our best to ensure that our ongoing projects and planned events are adapted and postponed until term 3 & 4 (when we hopefully see an further easing of restrictions.)

To all of the RPS community our school values of care, create and connect have never been more important. In these times we need to make sure we are reaching out creating a sense of community in new and innovative ways in order to ensure we are connected and caring for each other. Take the time to reach out to other families and check in. Our RPS community is such a special one and no amount of lockdowns can change that.

Take Care,

Tarryn Holland
