03V - AROUND THE TRAPS

Literacy

Grades 3-6 are working towards participating in the Lions Club Speeches this year. All students are writing speeches based on the grade 3 topic, ‘Volunteering in the community - tell us about a Volunteer Organisation in your Community, what do they do and why would you like to be part of that organisation', and will be presenting these in small groups next week. A small selection across grades 3-6 will have the opportunity to present to the Lions Club judges. Students’ planning is looking great so far!

Maths

We have begun looking at angles this week. Students have learnt about what an angle is, what different types of angles look like and have been for an investigation to try and find the different types in their environment.

Inquiry

Students have continued their ‘age of exploration’ explorer project by now researching the voyage map and timeline of their chosen explorer. We are starting to put our projects all together now in a keynote presentation.

RE

We have begun our unit focusing on the Sacrament of Reconciliation which many students in Grade 3 will be completed next week. We are focusing on what forgiveness means and how Jesus models and teaches us about forgiveness through the Bible.
