Performing Arts
This year has been great for Performing Arts so far. Classes from P-6 participating and engaging in Performance, Wakakirri in full swing and two amazing Performing Arts captains Brody Chugg and Sahara Xuereb.
This is a short highlight of some of the things we have been covering.
Preps have been looking at using emotions in acting, puppet play and about to delve into the world of Music.
One/Two students have been creating their own dance moves and learning the song “Do Re Mi” with the music theory behind it.
Three/Four started off with creating their own choreography, learning the c scale with piano play, looking at character traits and now they are exploring fractured fairytales.
Five/Six students have been working on Elements of Drama all semester. Starting with partner scenes, monologues and now looking at group plays in the form of Fairytales. Sadly due to the lockdown we haven't been able to start rehearsals but hopefully once we get back in the classroom we will work hard to be performance ready for the preps.
This year Wakakirri is based around technology and the effects it has on people when used all the time and the addiction that forms. Looking at Music videos (youtube), video games, film/television and social media. Rehearsals are going really well and we can’t wait to get back into it after this short lockdown.
