Coral 2 (5/6) Community

What a start to 2021! We began the year in Coral with 58 students, 3 teachers, Terry, Jenn and Ansley and 1 ES, Monique. Term 1 was full of learning in the classroom and laughter and games outside at lunch and recess, and a short 3 day lockdown in February. As Term 2 approached we began to get ready to see Terry leave for maternity leave and we had Ben join us. Jenn also changed her role to be a part of the catch up program but we are still lucky to have her in our Coral community working alongside our students.

Coral has been exploring the QAR strategy in reading, writing Narratives and applying their addition and subtraction skills in Numeracy. This term we are moving into Multiplication and Division in Numeracy, Explanation texts in Writing and starting to explore Book Choice in reading and making sure we are reading everyday. ‘The more we read, the more we know’ is our motto in Coral.

Interschool sport is back! In Term 1 we played Cricket, Basketball, Hockey, Hot Shots Tennis, Tee ball and Volley Stars. This term we are playing Netball, Volleyball, AFL, Soccer and Softball. We are loving our weekly Friday sport days, our summer sports GALA day and visiting Bellbridge to compete. We can’t wait for our Winter Sport GALA Day on the 21st of June.

Ben, Ainsley and Monique can’t wait to see what the year has ahead of us and for all the incredible learning, excursions, camps and sports we have ahead of us.
