VCAL

The VCAL Foundation students have worked extremely hard over the last month to create a wide variety of gifts to sell at the Mother’s Day stall. The stall was launched on Thursday 29 April and was opened for a week every lunchtime. Gifts ranged in price and the Foundation students spent a significant amount of time personalising and wrapping all of the items on sale. The Foundation students ensured that gifts available could be purchased for Mothers or a significant adult.

This project supported the Foundation students to continue to develop their teamwork, organisation, communication, literacy and numeracy skills. Comments from the students involved include:

‘It was an awesome experience to be a part of and it was nice to see how appreciative everyone was with the effort we put in’ (Emily)

‘I enjoyed taking on the role of a sales person and greeting the customers as they entered the store’ (Ashlee)

‘We all worked really hard to make the gifts and I think we did a good job’ (Hanna)

‘It was a great experience and I really enjoyed being part of it’ (Nikita)

‘It helped me practice customer service skills’ (Stephanie)

‘All of the plants we sold we grew in the VCAL garden’ (Nimrat)

The Foundation students will be donating $100 of the money raised to the Biggest Morning Tea for cancer research. Thank you to everyone who supported this project.
