Jewish Holocaust Museum

Virtual Excursion

On Tuesday, VCE History students and students studying the Horrible Histories specialism had the opportunity to complete a virtual experience with the Jewish Holocaust Museum. The organisers led us through an introduction and a virtual tour of the museum, where we got to see many artefacts like the prison uniforms, which gave us an insight into the lives of Jewish people during the Holocaust.

After the tour, we met Holocaust survivor, Abram Goldberg. He told us his story and how he made a promise to his mother before she died that he would share what happened to as many people as he could, if only so he could prevent something like the Holocaust happening again. In his final message he said, “Life is beautiful. Life is worth living.” The whole experience was inspirational and we all thank Abram for taking the time to share with us. We also thank the organisers, Mel and Tracy for the time and effort they put into making this experience memorable.

Mountain Biking Camp

Healthy Lifestyles – The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors students spent two days mountain biking Blores Hill on the edge of Lake Glenmaggie. Students rode a variety of tracks within the mountain bike park and worked to hone their skills cornering, travelling downhill at speed and over a range of obstacles along the 'flow track'. Students also created delicious meals for dinner using the Trangia stoves and setting up camp under the clear starry skies of Gippsland. Well done to all students for a fantastic attitude and great commitment to the ride and working really well as a team.
