RETURNING TO THE SCIENCE LAB

There was no doubt our Years 11, 10 and 7 students were excited to be back at school in the Science Lab finally doing what they love the most - Science practicals!

On the first day back of onsite learning, our Year 11 Chemistry students were straight into it conducting some paper and thin layer chromatography to separate the components in water soluble dyes.

Our Year 11 Biology students were applying their understanding of enzymes to assess the effect of fresh and canned pineapple on the formation of jelly.

Conducting scientific investigations enables our students to achieve a deeper understanding of the science concepts and how scientific thinking applies to these understandings.

We can’t wait to see the return of all students on Monday 1 November so we can continue this important aspect of their learning.
