PERFORMING ARTS

It has been a terrific start to students returning to the Performing Arts space.  We are excited about the energy that is present in the performing arts spaces.

INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS

Instrumental lessons have begun again - and it is fantastic to see and hear the wonderful sounds of music. Students who have school hire instruments should ensure that they bring them back to school over the next week so that their instrumental teacher can look over the instrument to make sure it is in good condition after the last few months of learning remotely.

Ensemble rehearsals will start again as well - students will have the opportunity to play with large groups of students, especially in the Years 7 and 8 ensemble program.

PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENTS

All music classes will be heading towards performance assessments in the next few weeks. Students within the classroom program will film their performance and submit this to the Google class that is set up. Instrumental students will most probably have students perform live to their teacher.

GROUP PERFORMANCE TASKS

Group performance tasks are taking place in the Theatre space as well - Year 11s are recording their radio play, and the Years 9 and 10 classes are working on their small group pieces for performance.

We are greatly looking forward to students performing for their peers in lunchtime and recess shows and will record these where possible.
