LEARNING

           &

TEACHING

This term, our Inquiry focus from Prep-Year 6 is History. Each year level will be exploring the concepts and skills of sequencing, using historical sources as evidence, identifying how the past is similiar and different from the present and determing historical significance.

The Preps will be exploring the question 'what is my personal and family history?' They will identify ways they have changed over time, explore their own and each others family history and learn about how toys have changed over time.

The Juniors will be exploring the question, "how has daily life changed over time?' They will begin by travelling back in time 100 years to 1922 and experiencing what school was like in the 'olden days'. They will then explore inventions and how they have changed over time and effected the way people have lived their daily lives.

The Middle's will be focusing on stories of immigration to Australia. They will share their own family stories and identify the many reasons people have left their homes to come to Australia.

The Seniors will be exploring:

▶ Why and how did Australia become a nation?

▶ How did Australian society change throughout the twentieth century?

▶ Who were the people who came to Australia? Why did they come?

▶ What contribution have significant individuals and groups made to the development of Australian society?

▶ What impact did Federation have on Indigenous and Aboriginal peoples?

We are all super excited for our Inquiry Learning this term and can't wait to share what we have learnt.
