MARKING SHEET COMMENTS

Metamorphosis Performance

"It's wonderful when entries embark on an original story, even if hinged on the journey of metamorphosis. The Screen work was a short film in its own right, so well done for all the extra work that went in there - and for showing how well the two parts can work together. We loved the caterpillars - real and egg carton ones! The story moved forward really well. Great transitions between items - all felt like one piece. We liked the shapes created on the stage - simple moves can have great successes. The costumes were fun and colourful. The tinsel sticks were fun also. Well done, team - you worked together well and were clearly enjoying yourselves."

To put these achievements into perspective, our children were all in year 3 or 4. They were competing against full primaries and intermediate schools. The top achiever at this year's ShowQuest was Northcross Intermediate, with over 1,300 year 7 and 8 students.

Below is the official Showquest video of their performance - which can be found on YouTube  -  here   at the 24 minutes 27 seconds mark.

PS - we finally got all our original YouTube content back (328) videos spanning five years!
