Principal's message

Dear Parents, Carers and Supporters,
Thanks to all families that attended the Learning Conversations over the last two weeks. It is so important to communicate with each other. While these are offered every term, if you have a concern, please don't wait. Parents/carers may make an appointment with their child's teacher at any time.
COVID updates
Families play an important role in helping us manage the health and wellbeing of students and staff at St Joseph's. Please be mindful of the following guidelines:
Face Masks
Wearing a face mask can help protect you and those around you. Face masks stop droplets spreading when you talk, cough, sneeze and laugh, which lowers your chance of spreading or catching the virus.
In practice, this means that the Victorian Government is recommending that, through to the end of Winter, students aged 8 and over and staff will wear masks when in class, except where removing a mask is necessary for clear communication or when a particular activity requires the removal of a mask.
It is a simple step we can all take this Winter to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases and ensure our schools are as safe as possible.
Symptoms of Cold / Flu / COVID
Families are asked to be mindful of the symptoms of Cold / Flu / COVID and to keep their child/children home is they are displaying these:
- fever
- coughing
- sore throat
- shortness of breath
Other symptoms include:
- runny nose or congestion
- headache or fatigue
- muscle or joint pains
- nausea or loss of appetite
- diarrhoea or vomiting
- temporary loss of smell or altered sense of taste.
I appreciate for all busy families that this can be an inconvenience and understand the pressure this places on working families. This is in the best interests of our students, staff and families as we experience challenges in finding staff. We need to do all we can to ensure learning, routine and classroom structure can continue for all students. We would be grateful for your help by keeping your child/children home when they are unwell.

CAMP Dates
Grade 3/4: 3rd & 4th November to Maldon
Grade 5/6: 12th - 14th December to Alexandra Adventure Camp
We will be visiting both camp sites prior to make sure they have the facilities we need to support all of our students. If your child is unsure of camp, please have a chat to their teacher. We will work with you to make sure they feel supported and have all the necessary information.
Take care and stay in touch.
