The many faces of Year 5

This week we warmly welcome our students back for Term 3. We look forward to a fun and exciting term filled with lots of activities and endless opportunities for learning!

Year 6s get stuck into dumplings

At the end of Term 2, a group of lucky Year 6 students had the opportunity to learn the art of dumpling making, including rolling out the dough by hand and shaping their creations into dumpling perfection.

While studying Chinese as a language is always fun, we all agree that being able to create and sample traditional delicacies certainly brings the culture to life!

Kinders love jumping in muddle puddles!

To celebrate International Mud Day on Wednesday 29 June, our Kinder students joined Kinders from St Virgil's College out at Austins Ferry for some fun in the mud.

What better way to make some new friends and enjoy some time in the great outdoors, then by losing a shoe or two sliding through the earth.

Judging by the smiling (and mud-splattered) faces, everyone had a great time splashing and squelching in the mud and bushland. View more photos on our website here

All in a day's work for Millie

Junior School students were in for a treat on Monday 4 July, with Millie, our much-loved therapy dog in training, visiting the College alongside her owner and handler, Heather Collet.

Being a nine-month-old pup, Millie’s exposure to school has been gradual, but days in the classroom are her favourite! The fluffy pooch had a paw-some time exploring the grounds and bonding with students and staff.

After receiving many pats, cuddles and handshakes, Millie even managed to squeeze in a short nap in Year 1. Phew – it’s hard work being so cute.

Music performances hit the right note

SMC was alive with the sound of music recently, thanks to our talented music tutor students, pictured below.

Students delighted in performing for their families and loved ones, who were blown away by the high calibre of talent on display and the progress their child has made this past term.

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to offer a variety of one-on one instrument lessons for students to perfect their skills with their dedicated tutor.
