Hoop Time

From Basketball Clinics to Hoop Time

On the 26th of August, the students from Years 5 and 6 participated in Hoop Time at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium with some local school groups.  The stadium was abuzz with anticipation as the students waited for their first game to commence.

Participating in basketball clinics over the past month allowed some of our novice players to learn more about the game. For students who are already part of a team or enjoy the game during play breaks, it allowed them to hone their skills.

Watching the All-Stars Boy's Team practise on the court each lunchtime before the competition was great - skill and sportsmanship on display.

Ms Feddersen took three teams with her. Riley and Goai were outstanding in the Rookies team, scoring several points for their team.  The All-Stars Boys team, led by Tadhg, came very close to featuring in the finals.  The All-Stars Girls team led by Jessica must also be commended for their team spirit throughout the day.

Thank you to the parents and grandparents who came along to support the children.

Even though only the seniors went to Hoop Time, the Basketball Clinic was a fabulous experience for all the children from Prep to Year 6. We still see some of our Prep children dribbling across the court and shooting for goals.  Our future All-Stars!

Coach Kyle,  the coach from the Basketball Clinic, will soon provide information for the Dandenong Stadium if your child is interested in joining a fun team sport.
