Principal's News

School Maintenance

Hello everyone, and welcome to our newsletter for week 6. At last, the concreting is completed on the asphalt area in front of the big bin storage area. The concreter did the work on Saturday morning. The children will miss playing with the bits of broken asphalt and the associated puddles of water, but it will now be a lot better for the truck that comes and empties the big bin, and there will be no more damage to the top yard and children's playing area.

Holy Family Community Hub

Our Hub Leader has decided to move on, so we are currently advertising for a new Hub Leader. We hope to have the position filled by the end of this term. We will keep everyone up to date with how the process is going.

The Hub is still up and running with the playgroup, English classes and craft groups. Once appointed, these will continue, and the new Hub leader will take over running them. A big thank you to the people in the Hub who are helping out at the moment to keep it running.

The Hub has been well set up and resourced, thanks to Hema, who left a week ago. Whoever takes over will have an excellent structure they can put their stamp on and add.

If you know anyone who might make an excellent Hub Leader for the school, please let them know about the position.

School Photos

The school photos are this Tuesday the 16th of August. The children need to come to school nice and tidy on photo day. In the following weeks, forms will be available at school to order and pay for the photos.

Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 18th August, there is an Athletics Carnival for the senior school students. They have been training at recess times for this, and I think they will do very well for themselves and the school.

Father's Day

We are celebrating Father's Day differently this year. For several years we have put on a Fathers Day breakfast. This year we are going to have a Pizza and Paper Planes evening. This event will be on Thursday 1st September. It will go from 5:30 - 6:30 pm, making and flying paper planes and pizza for dinner. We will have plans to construct the aircraft, or you can use your design. Several categories will test your flying ability with prizes for the winners.

We hope the dads and their children enjoy this event.  Men are significant role models in children's lives, including grandfathers, uncles, brothers or family friends.

Curriculum Day

On Monday, 29th August, we will have a curriculum day. As all staff will be offsite, we will not; therefore, we do not have any provision for childcare that day. Staff will be participating in professional development around Religious Education. A notice will go home this week with more details about this day.
