Sports Day/ Colour Run 2021 @ LNPS

What a memorable day our annual Sports Day was! We had absolutely perfect weather conditions and the oval was buzzing with activity and laughter. 

The day kicked off with our traditional health hustle, with an indigenous theme. Banners were flying proud and team chants could be heard from a far. The morning proceeded with whole school championship sprints which did not disappoint. 

After all the children, parents and staff cheered on all runners we moved to our ever so fun Chicken Run. Whole school baton relay was sure a hit and ribbons were awarded to all competitors to celebrate their success. After recess, tabloid events kicked off. This year we only had 3 events, 2 with an indigenous focus. The events encouraged teamwork, sportsmanship, collaboration and creativity and a great time was had by all, even some parents joined in the fun! 

Sports Day wouldn't be the same without the tug-o-war tradition, and yes staff won again! After results were finalised the 2021 winners were announced, yes Grallina takes the lead for the third year in a row! Team captains proudly presented their winning speech and were awarded the perpetual LNPS trophy. 

Now if you think the fun stopped there, you were wrong. Children, staff and parents got to let their hair down and run around the oval in a sea of colour. Wow, what an amazing day, such a memorable one particularly for our year 6 and 7’s as they head off to secondary school. 

We hope everyone had a great day and thank you so much for supporting our school fun fundraiser. We raised $11,539.66 for our school and we couldn’t have done this without all the support from our school community.

Congratulations Grallina once more and to all our students in Brian, Malurus and Pierson. All students should be proud of their achievements and their commitment to our school values

Grallina Victory Speech

Firstly we would like to say Exceptional and Amazing work Grallina! We would like to thank every team that participated at this year's Sports Day! Every team has contributed to making this day possible and the leadership from our seniors has been excellent. 

Today all teams demonstrated the keys to success and all the school values. You all did an amazing job and you all put in 100%. It was great seeing everyone give their all and the teamwork from all house teams was outstanding. Grallina, your efforts today got us over the line! 

We observed that every team was focused and showed good sportsmanship in all of the events. Everyone showed amazing skills to work together and have a great time. 

We loved seeing people giving it their all because this day was all about trying your best, being active and having fun! We all played an amazing role and Grallina worked together to have the best day of our life.

On behalf of the Grallina Captains we would like to thank Mr Smith, Ms Byrnes and all the staff that made this day possible. The Sports day committee did a great job to make this day possible and made this day so fun for us. 

Today you showed that you aimed high and you never gave up which is what you should always do no matter what. You made this day so enjoyable and memorable for all of the seniors. 

To all staff you have made this a memorable day so thanks. Everyone should be so happy for each other as we all come together in the end.
