School News

Marni Naa Pudni

It is an extremely busy time at LNPS as we come to the end of another highly successful year. There is so much happening across the school at times it is hard to keep track!  If at any point you need support please reach out to the school. It is going to be a great finish to the year as we have  a lot of exciting learning and activities ahead.

COVID 19 Update

As you may have heard  the Commissioner of Police, acting in his role as the State Coordinator responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, has announced the Emergency Management (Education and Early Childhood Settings Vaccination) (COVID-19) Direction 2021.

Under this Direction, COVID-19 vaccinations will be mandatory for all people who work at a  school, except those who have a medical exemption endorsed by the Chief Public Health Officer. This includes:

  • all Department for Education employees and contractors
  • anyone who visits a school for work purposes
  • all Governing Council members
  • all  volunteers / parent helpers (people who assist with camps, excursions, fundraising etc)
  • OSHC employees

Under this Direction, all of the above-mentioned people must receive at least 1 dose of a Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) approved COVID-19 vaccination and a booking to receive a second dose by 10 December 2021.

This direction does not include students or parents who do not work/volunteer at the school, delivery drivers, people responding to urgent maintenance tasks or an emergency situation.

Over the coming weeks we will be working through the logistics of how this will look at LNPS and our next steps.

If you have any questions please contact the school.

Sports Day/Colour Run

What a highly successful day we had! The weather was perfect and everyone involved had a wonderful day. Congratulations to Grallina who won their 3rd Sports Day in a row.

I would like to thank the Sports Day Committee (especially Amy B and Davis S) for all their hard work. They day ran very smoothly and the new format worked very well.

Finally, thank you to all our parent volunteers for helping to manage the gates. This was a complex role but vital to enable attendance for community members.

2022 Reception Transition Visits

This week and next week we welcome our new 2022 Receptions and their families for their visits to their new school classrooms.

This year we have implemented a new process after an extensive review of our approach. This has seen the introduction of more visits for students to enable further familiarisation with all aspects of the school and modified parent information sessions.

We are looking forward to welcoming all of our new families into the LNPS community in 2022.

Early Years Redevelopment

The project continues to move along as per the planned schedule. There is a huge amount of trades on site and progress is moving along quite quickly. Internal fit out has begun which is super exciting.

Our Progress Meetings have now moved to fortnightly and the next meeting is this Friday. Please see the photos below from the last progress meeting.

Governing Council - Last Call!!!!

The Governing Council at Lockleys North Primary School is a hard working group of parents and staff who work collaboratively to provide a quality learning environment for your children.

Its members are responsive to any issues that arise and their role is to determine the views of our local community with regards to the educational needs of the school. The Governing Council informs the Principal of these views and needs.

We have 8 vacancies starting 2022 and are calling for nominations from members of the school community to stand for Council. Councillors elected serve for two years.

Meetings are for about 2 hours (7.00-9.00pm) twice a term.  If you would like further information regarding Governing Council, or would like to nominate for a vacancy please email  tyson.grinham428@schools.sa.edu.au by Wednesday 17th November.

There will be an election of people after this date in which the whole school community is provided a voting slip if we have more nominations than vacancies.

We encourage parents to get involved and stand for election to Council.
