Once upon a time, there was a dog named Monty and his mum was Stella. It was ten days until Christmas and Monty wanted a collar with jingle bells on it. But he could only wear it on Christmas and Christmas Eve and Boxing day.  Every day Monty was happy Monty and he said happily,  “ Mum, it's almost Christmas.” And with all that happiness he sang and danced under the Christmas tree with the lights shining above him.

In the days leading up to Christmas Eve Monty felt ecstatic and couldn’t wait to try on his collar.

On Christmas Eve Monty woke up bright and early because he was eager to unwrap his present. His mum gave him the gift and Monty swiftly tore up the wrapping paper. When he saw it, he shouted out with glee, “yippee”. His mum placed the collar around his fat neck and he pranced and danced and jumped. He was so happy!

Late Christmas Eve Monty woke up to the sound of jingle bells. Monty looked out the window and came face to face with a magical reindeer. He saw all of Santa’s other seven reindeers and heard a “Ho! Ho! Ho!Ho coming from the fireplace.

Who was it? Monty looked.

It was Santa!!
