As part of our ongoing commitment in raising attainment of all students, we recently welcomed international academic Dr Wiley Blevins, as well as several members of Catholic Education and teachers from across South Australia to our school.

Dr Wiley shared his research-based approach to teaching phonics and led phonics lessons to our junior primary classes. He then debriefed with the cohort sharing his contemporary teaching pedagogies and the ‘Science of Reading’ approach which we can use and adapt to support best practice in our school as we strive to achieve excellent learning in literacy.

We thank Catholic Education for allowing us the privilege of hosting this event and we especially thank Dr Blevins for sharing his expertise and knowledge with us.
