Music Night, Music Scholarships and Student Achievement

Music Night 2023

 

The countdown is on to Music's night of nights taking place on Tuesday 20 June from 7.00pm in the Xanten Theatre.  With performances from all College Ensembles, Music Night promises to be an exciting evening showcasing the brilliant talents of our students. Term 3 is the term of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival (CPAF) and in preparation for this students performing solo or in a duet for the festival will again be taking stage for the annual Recital Afternoons on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 July 2023.   More information will be made available to students and parents in the coming weeks.

 

Blessed Ricvera Music Scholarships

Applications for the 2024 Blessed Ricvera Music Scholarships open on Monday 19 June to current Year 8 students and current Year 6 students enrolled and accepted at St Norbert College for 2024.  The scholarships cover 50% of the applicable College tuition fees and full instrumental/vocal tuition fees.  It is tenable for three years subject to satisfactory review of performance each year.  Information and the application form will be available on the College website.

Student Achievement 

Cheyenne Lin (Year 8 - K6) won the Junior tap championship and a cash prize of $300 at 'Dance Quest' dance competition​, performing her tap medley.

Congratulations to Isabella Giuffre (Y12 - X5)  for taking first place and Cadence Smythe (Y11 - K1) for taking third place in the 2023 Fremantle Eisteddfod 18 and under Modern/Theatre Category.

Both incredibly talented and technically diverse singers amongst our music program at the College, Isabella and Cadence were adjudicated in this prestigious singing competition by the Head of Classical Voice at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Emma Matthews

 

As a winner of this category, Isabella will be performing at the Winners Concert of all Eisteddfod competitions at the Government House Ballroom on Saturday 10 June. 

 

Cadence Smythe also competed in the Classical voice competition in which she also received third place. Congratulations to both Isabella and Cadence for their amazing achievement.
