Year 10 Subject Selection Information Evening

The end of Term Two and the commencement of Term Three represent an important time for Year 10 students in determining their pathway into Year 11, Year 12 and eventually post school. This process will begin with an assembly for Year 10 students on Wednesday 21 June providing them with information about the pathways and subjects on offer in Year 11 as well as details regarding the process for selecting their courses for next year.

There will be an online Subject Selection Information Evening for all Year 10 students and their parents on Wednesday 28 June commencing at 6.00pm. This will be conducted through a Year 10 team in Microsoft Teams enabling families to access the presentation from home. On this evening, all the information regarding the process for selecting subjects will be again made available for students and parents. Please keep this date free and tune into the online meeting to learn about this important process. A reminder also that the selection process for Year 11 in 2024 will conclude on Monday 31 July when the Course Counselling interviews are held for all Year 10 students and their parents here at the College. Further information regarding these interviews will be shared through the online presentation in Week 10.

Semester One Reports

As the term draws to a close, the finalisation of the College’s Semester One Reports becomes a priority of teachers at the College. At this stage, the intention is to release the Year 11&12 Semester One Reports towards the end of Week 2.9 and the Years 7-10 Reports will be released during Week 2.10. The Semester One Report provides students with an excellent opportunity to review their start to the academic year and to set themselves up for a successful second semester.

Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews

Save the Date: The second round of Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday, 18 July between 12.00pm and 7.00pm. The day will be a Home Study Day for students who are not attending Interviews. These interviews will be face-to-face interviews with students required to accompany their parents to the interviews wearing their full College winter uniform. Further details about the Interviews along with details regarding how to book interviews with teachers will be released to families in the final week of this term.

Year 9 Camp

Staff and students are in the final stages of their Year 9 Camp preparations. An online meeting was held on Wednesday 24 May that went through all of the arrangements and requirements for the Camp. Those families who were unable to view the meeting live can access the recording through the SNC Year 9 Camp 2023 team in Microsoft Teams that all Year 9 students can access. A reminder that those students who are unable to attend Camp are still required to attend school during the camp week.

Distribution of Leavers’ Jackets

After an unavoidable delay, the Class of 2023 finally got the opportunity to collect their Class of 2023 Leavers’ Jackets. The arrival of the Jackets certainly put an extra spring in the step of our graduating class with several students observing that they felt they finally looked like a Year 12 student. As in past years, Year 12 students have been granted permission to wear their Leavers’ Jackets to and from school on Monday only. On the other week days, they are expected to wear their College Blazer to and from school and change into their Leavers’ Jacket at their locker. Leavers’ Jackets are not to be worn under the College Blazer and students must wear their College Blazer when attending formal College occasions such as liturgies and assemblies.

Year 12 Retreat

The Year 12 Retreat will take place on Tuesday 27 June at Integrity House in Osborne Park. The Retreat is a compulsory Year 12 event with students being transported to and from the location. The theme of the Year 12 Retreat is developing an ongoing relationship with God as students transition into their adult life and it will be one of the final times prior to Graduation for the year group to come together and participate in a unique student experience. Students are required to wear their Sports Uniform including their College tracksuit but can also wear their Class of 2023 Leavers’ Jacket on the day. Information regarding the event including details of what students need to bring will be made available to families in the near future through Consent2Go.
