I am thrilled to announce the outstanding success of our school's football teams at the recent ACC (Associated & Catholic Colleges) Carnival, held at Curtin University. Both our senior boys and girls teams demonstrated exceptional skills, determination, and teamwork throughout the carnival, securing victories in every match and remaining undefeated.
The Senior Boys team, led by captain Gion Escape, showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the carnival. They displayed an impressive level of teamwork, working together and playing a great brand of football. It was evident that their countless hours of practice and dedication paid off, as they won each game convincingly. The boys will now progress to the round of 16 which will take place early in Term 3.
Equally impressive was the Senior Girls team. These talented young women showcased their exceptional football skills, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with on the field. They displayed great resilience and teamwork, and were also able to remain undefeated. The girls were building confidence as the carnival went on and they now play a home quarter final on Tuesday 1 August.
The success of both teams at the ACC Carnival is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of the players, as well as the coaching staff. A big thankyou is in order for our football coach Rama Kabwe for taking our Senior Girls team. Both teams will continue to train in the cold mornings to keep the dream alive of progressing further in the competition. Depth is strong for both teams which will keep the training attendance and intensity high.
The most pleasing aspect of the carnival was the playing group for both teams included a number of younger students, ranging from Year 8 up to Year 12. The football program has the philosophy that if you are good enough, it doesn’t matter how young you are, you will get an opportunity.
It would be great to see a big crowd to support the girls in their upcoming quarter-final and more information of how you can show your support will be given at a later date.
Dare to dream!
