EQUESTRIAN
Equestrian Interschools State Championships
Congratulations to Zara (C9), for her impressive achievements at the Equestrian Interschools State Championships. Zara's remarkable talent and hard work paid off as she secured a couple of wins and multiple Overall Championship placings in the competition.
Well done, Zara!
HOCKEY
National U15 Field Hockey Championships and CIS 16 Years Girls Hockey Team
A huge congratulations to Hannah (C9), who did an exceptional job representing AICES at the CIS Championships and has been selected to represent CIS in the 16 Years and under Girls Hockey Team at the NSW All Schools Championships in June. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to her hard work and dedication.
But that’s not all, earlier this year, Hannah was also selected to compete for the NSW U15 Blues Team at the National U15 Field Hockey Championships held in Darwin. Despite battling with 33-degree heat and 90 percent humidity, her team managed to secure 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses, placing them in the middle ranks of the results. Queensland ultimately took home the Championship.
Hannah spent 11 days in the NSW Team Camp, where she received intensive training and played against other state teams. This was her first-time representing NSW, although she had previously made the squad for U13s a few years back, which unfortunately did not proceed due to COVID restrictions.
We are thrilled to share this news with our school community, and we have no doubt that she will represent CIS with great pride and passion at the upcoming NSW All Schools Championships in June. Her hard work and dedication are truly an inspiration to us all.
Well done, Hannah!
TENNIS
Australian Claycourt Championships
Congratulations to Amy (C8), who recently spent the weekend competing at the 2023 14 under Australian Claycourt Championships NSW Qualifying event at Marsfield. It was a massive weekend of tennis, with Amy having to play in the extreme heat and late into the evening on both nights. Amy won the final match in a super tiebreaker (4-6 6-2 10-6), securing her spot at the Australian Claycourt Championships held in Canberra. Well done, Amy!
