This week has been full of activities to keep our students active in their learning, through projects, they made, they moved with lessons both inside and outside, and were motivated by staff and motivated by each other to do their best.

A newly established schedule of lunchtime activities for students in the primary year levels has been posted.

Our student leaders are currently conducting a survey to find out which activities to run for our secondary students. We strongly encourage our students to have their say and complete the survey. Student Attitudes to School Survey

Recently, families received notification that our students, along with all students across the state, will participate in the Students Attitudes to School Survey between the dates of Monday 22 May through to Thursday 8 June. These surveys will take place during class time to ensure students understand how to complete the survey and will be provided support if it is needed.

The purpose of this survey is to hear from the students how they feel about school. Students will be asked about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general. As a reminder of the information that was sent via our Compass News Feed last week.

FREE PARENTING SEMINAR – Raising Resilient Children

We want to remind families about the upcoming Positive Parenting Program seminar.

Tuesday 30 May 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm at Kyabram P-12 College

Learning how to cope with and bounce back from setbacks and disappointment is how we develop our resilience – the ability to stay calm and deal with whatever challenges cross our path. It may be a severe weather event, a pandemic, or other event outside out control, but how we respond to that event impacts our health and wellbeing. That’s why we’re proud to be hosting a Triple P Seminar to help all parents give children useful skills and strategies to manage their emotions, overcome challenges, and handle stressful situations. The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program can help you guide your child towards a happy and successful adulthood.

Triple P’s Raising Resilient Children Seminar for parents with children aged up to 12 years, offers tips on how to develop your child’s ability to cope with problems, now and in the future.

Triple P is a world-renowned program (developed in Australia) that has already helped more than 4 million children and their families. Triple P also offers a range of online programs (web-based courses you do in your own time, at your own pace) and these are freely available to all families across Victoria with children aged under 16 years.

Students Represent!

Duke of Ed Update

Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen our Year 9 Duke of Ed students volunteering their time with the Prep students to support their reading. The students have really enjoyed this time together.

The Duke of Ed students have also worked hard to assist with preparing for the Inclusion and Diversity Day with beautifying the gardens.

Kyabram Club Dinner

On Thursday 11 May, we had our Assistant Principals with students attend the annual Kyabram Club Dinner where students from schools in the area also attended. School Captain Aiden and Junior Captains Vika and Flynn, Taylor and Stephanie represented our school along with our students Lily, Sorelle and Alyssa who sung a song from The Greatest Showman.
