Secondary Sport Winter Series

Friday 12th May brought favourable weather for our Year 7 & 8 Boys Soccer team, competing against Brauer College and Warrnambool College for Western District Winter Sports. With Riley C captaining the side, our team found fine form all throughout the day. Drawing 1-1 in both their games, our Year 8 boys managed to secure a spot in the Greater Western Regional Soccer event in Ballarat in August. A big congratulations to the squad, and special mentions to David M, Dalton L, Will P and Sam W for exceptional sportsmanship on the day.

Following this, our Year 9 and 10 Boys and Girls Soccer teams took to the pitch on Monday May 15th. Our girls, despite being low on numbers, played an exceptionally social and enjoyable match, taking 3rd spot (out of 3). Special mentions to Emmy M, Esther W and Ruth S for their display of sporting prowess and respect throughout the day.

Our intermediate boys captained by Lachie C and supported by water boys Blake W and Sam Sp, took off on a terrific start drawing 1-1 against Warrnambool College. Despite scoring two early goals in their next match, they came up short against Brauer 1, losing 2- 4. However, spirits were lifted in the final game with a convincing 6-0 win against Brauer 2. Special mentions to Logan B, Toby P, Nekoda B and Matthew P on their effort and perseverance during their first ever WD soccer matches.

Big thanks to our water boys, captains, bus drivers, staff and students for a terrific couple of days of district sport.
