Since 2020 the NSW Curriculum Reform has been shaping a K-2 Mathematics Syllabus. This year our infants teachers have implemented this new syllabus. This new curriculum gives students more time to focus on key concepts so that they can acquire a deeper understanding of essential mathematic knowledge and skills. It ensures students develop a strong foundation for them to build upon in the following years.
The new syllabus emphasises key concepts, identifies essential knowledge, skills and includes new outcomes. To reflect these new outcomes from the syllabus the Mathematics language on our Semester 1 Report Cards will change.
Please see the tables below which highlight the outcomes and language of the new and old syllabuses. If you have a child in Kindergarten, Year 1 or Year 2 these are the areas you will see on the Semester 1 Reports.
