Balaclava District Athletics Carnival

On Wednesday 24 August, Kilvington had 57 students participate in the Balaclava District Athletics Carnival. All students had spent time training for their events and did a wonderful job of representing the School.

This was the first time the event has run since 2019 and it was the first opportunity for many of the students to compete in an inter-school athletics event. Among tough competition and tough weather conditions, we had some fabulous results.

Congratulations to the following students who qualified for the Beachside Athletics Carnival and will represent the Balaclava district.

  • Henry Bath - 1st place U12/13 200m
  • Milta Lu - 2nd place U11 Discus
  • Xavier Misso - 2nd place U11 Discus
  • Ella Spooner - 1st place U11 Shot Put
  • Mia Nation - 1st place U9/10 1500m

Thank you to Mrs Kasapis for her expertise in selecting and coaching the team as well as to Ms Soler and Miss Burns for their work on the day.

de Castella Run 2022

Well done to all of the Kilvington runners who represented the School at the annual 2022 de Castella Run.

This event raises funds for the Indigenous Marathon Foundation and the Run to Support Mental Health.

Our team was comprised of students, parents and teachers. Kilvington won the school event and also had some terrific individual results as well.

  • Anna Kasapis - 1st place, overall
  • Willow Devine - 3rd place, 10-14YO
  • Onkaar Lamba - 3rd place, 10-14YO

EISM Cross Country

Congratulations to our amazing Cross Country team who represented the School at the EISM Cross Country on Wednesday 31 August at Ruffey Lake Park.

This event has not occurred since 2019 due to COVID restrictions, and it was also the first time Kilvington competed as a Division 1 school.

The Ruffey Lake Park is an extremely challenging 3km course with a tough terrain and many hills. The recent heavy rains also made it very slippery and unforgiving.

It's always terrific to see the students give it their all and show the resilience that is needed to be a cross-country runner.

There were many fantastic individual team and individual performances throughout. Well done to the whole team. A special congratulations to Archie Fifoot who won the 13 Year Old Boys race.
