Science Week in the ELC

To celebrate Science Week at School, the ELC children were invited to the Science Laboratory to participate in some fun science experiments with a group of Year 8 and Year 9 students.

Safety was the priority, with all students required to wear protective glasses and a lab coat. With the guidance of the older students, the ELC children completed the ‘dancing currents' experiment.

The older students did a fantastic job of explaining why the currents 'danced' in the chemical mixture of bicarb soda, vinegar and water.

To finish off the visit, the children ventured outside and explored bubbles with the older students.

Thank you to the science teachers and Senior School students for including the ELC children. They had a fun and exciting time exploring science in the laboratory!

THE BENEFITS OF SCIENCE IN THE ELC

Science is a fantastic subject that is embedded into the ELC program. Scientific exploration and research give young children the opportunity to explore, inquire, problem-solve, cooperate and communicate with others, and to be even more excited and curious about the world around us.
