Radio Active

This is a busy week for the Arts. Our VET Music students have been rehearsing all week with WAAPA students and it has been great to have past student Sophie Scott (Wilson, 2018) back with us. They will be performing at the Albany Entertainment Centre this Friday evening.

gARmenT

Artist Mand Markey has been working with Years Eight, Nine and Ten students in a residency in Week One to create three stunning garments symbolising the Red Moort Reserve, an echidna, black cockatoo and red moort flower. These garments will be modelled by Year Ten Drama students, Dannielle Frost, Ella Andersen and Lily Quick, at the Town Hall during a Gala Event on Saturday night and a matinee on Sunday. Tickets are available through the City of Albany: gARmenT » Albany Arts & Culture

There are over forty garments on display and these will then be exhibited in the Town Hall until 10 September.

Red Moort Dinner

There are still some tickets available for the Red Moort degustation dinner presented by Fervor. This is an amazing opportunity to experience a culinary feast by the celebrated Paul Iskov.

Tickets are available at Red Moort Degustation dinner with Fervor Tickets, Great Southern Grammar, Kalgan | TryBooking Australia

We are busily working towards the whole school arts exhibition, Red Moort, opening at the Annette Knight Centre at 3.00pm on Sunday 11 September. There will be creative work on display from throughout the school and we look forward to celebrating all our students’ artistic talent.

This will be followed by the much anticipated Kingfisher Concert at the Albany Entertainment Centre on Wednesday 14 September. Tickets are available for this musical highlight of the Grammar year: Great Southern Grammar Presents Kingfisher Concert | Arts and Culture Trust (artsculturetrust.wa.gov.au)
