Book Week 2022

I am happy to report that Book Week was a hoot! The UNO tournament ran really well considering I've never run one before. Congratulations to Kushi Patel form 9C for winning the game. And the trivia competition was also a big hit with senior students taking out first prize.  Alas I have no photos of the week as I was so busy running everything.......there's always next year!

"I don't want to read" said some student at sometime!

If you can relate to this then you are not alone. Not everyone is a born reader - it takes practise. A good trick is to stop thinking of reading as a task or a chore. Instead think of it as shopping for your mind, you might just find some information that you will want to store in your brain to use later.  You can read a recipe, a comic book, the latest murder mystery, fall in love with the characters, escape to another world, read how to start your own business, a happy book for a blue day, find out about your star sign in fact where are the stars? I might read about that as well............on and on and on

Speaking of reading:

The reading room is getting another make over as if one wasn't enough!

Soon the pointless fuzzy wall will be transformed into a reading wall for all to take advantage of. It will have books ranging in levels of difficulty; books from 20 pages to 200 and it will hold something for everyone. I can't wait. (sneak peak below of new books)
