Magis report

Congratulations to our Year 9 and 10 teams who competed in the Regional Finals of Creative Edge over the weekend. The Creative Edge Competition provides students with the opportunity to develop both critical and creative thinking skills and encourage them to experiment with original ways to communicate their challenge solution to an audience. In addition, teams are given an 'Impromptu Creativity Challenge' on the day of their Regional Final. The judges were wowed by the imaginative way they had examined the Literature and Humanities challenges and for their outstanding props and costumes. There is a lot of preparation involved in the lead up to the competition, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students who, despite their busy schedules, enthusiastically attended meetings and rehearsals.

Congratulations to Year 9 student, Poppy Hartfield who has been selected as one of nine finalists in the State Grand Final of FameLab Academy. Poppy will be presenting her speech on 'Women in STEM' at the Heath Ledger Theatre later this term. An outstanding achievement – well done Poppy!
