Building program
The College is very appreciative of the support and understanding of our community during our extensive Building Program. Our Ignatius Centre (refurbished Library) is being very well utilised by students and staff and is a modern and progressive learning hub.
The pandemic continues to significantly impact the construction industry. The uncertainty that it brings continues to make it challenging to accurately estimate finish dates for our other large projects. The College has been very happy with the guidance provided by our architects and the quality of work completed by our builders.
By the end of 2022, it is envisaged that the A Block refurbishment (ten classrooms and Examination Centre) and the new Staff Building and adjacent Primary playgrounds, Junior School car park our existing staffroom and offices (new Pastoral Care Centre) will be completed. By the beginning of the 2023 school year, the refurbishments of the existing Administration Block (new Uniform Shop and Marketing/Alumni/Foundation Offices) will be completed.
The final touches of the Building Program will be artwork to reflect the Catholicity and History of our College. It is an exciting time for our community.
Our students, staff and families have been wonderfully cooperative and flexible over the past few years, and we are very excited about the benefits the building program will provide for current, future and past generations of John XXIII College students. We will continue to provide updates as the year progresses.
Father’s Day
It was lovely to host so many parents and guardians at the College for our Mass and celebration this morning. Our Mother’s Day equivalent was impacted due to COVID restrictions so it was great to have so many parents joining us in person. Best wishes to all our Dads and guardians for this weekend.
