From the Council Chair

Dear Members of the John XXIII College Community

On behalf of the College Council, I am writing to provide an update on the position of Principal with the College. As you know, after seven years of outstanding leadership and service at John XXIII College, our Principal, Robert Henderson, will conclude his tenure at the end of 2022.

The leading recruitment firm, Fisher Leadership, has been engaged to conduct a comprehensive national search for Robert’s successor. The Council has this week completed a thorough briefing process with the Fisher Leadership team and to support the search an advertisement will appear in The Australian on Saturday, 10 September 2022. We anticipate the process will be concluded by mid-November this year and I look forward to notifying you of this important appointment in due course.

To assist in and help streamline this recruitment process, a working group comprising representatives of the College, College Council, the Archbishop, Loreto Ministries and CEWA has been established to engage with Fisher Leadership. This group will identify and interview a shortlist of candidates with the final decision on the successful applicant to be made in accordance with the College’s constitution.

The focus of the search will be to identify a principal who is not only a highly skilled, innovative and experienced educator, but one who embodies and promotes the Catholic values and Ignatian traditions that are the very fabric of our school.

Towards the end of Term 4, 2022 we look forward to formally acknowledging the outstanding legacy that Robert will leave to our College, to thank him and to wish him and his family well as they pursue the next adventures that await them.

Kind regards

Dr Courtenay Harris

Council Chair
