Double Digit Delight – 20/08/22
10 – 1 inscribed on the scoreboard. A well-earned win after a washed out match the week before.
Whilst heavy underfoot, Jack Brabham 25 has been the second home of the Mariners this season, with us being undefeated on this ground (minus game one where we only had one training session under our belt…)
A magnificent display of confidence and sportsmanship at training throughout the week had the Mariners pinned as the favourites against our competitors in the Ex-Servies. Favourites we proved to be, with a great display of tactics, strategy, and communication on the pitch.
Names within this team will go down in history as some of the best. Clear game play of sliding horizontally and sliding vertically, some strong kicking attack and defense as tough as the Trojans ensured the Mariners had a well-deserved, convincing win this weekend. Congrats to the team for their dedication and commitment.
Points:
3 – Lucy Baker
2 – Ben Chambers and George Nash
1 – Sam Commins, Asher Jones and Daniel Rourke
A slide in momentum caused a tight match on Saturday, with the Mariners fighting hard to the finish line.
A defeat will allow for us to work on strategy at training this week. We hold our heads up high as we approach the final 3 weeks of competition.
