Drum Roll Please!
Three of our Junior Band students were lucky enough to enjoy a drum workshop with ex-student KWS, Owen Bloomfield last week. Owen went through KWS from primary into secondary and continued his percussion studies at Sydney Conservatorium High School. He has received tuition from some of the best percussionist in Australia and was keen to pass on some of his knowledge to our students before he left to continue his tertiary studies at the Manhattan School of Music in the US. Georgie, Lucas and Zaro practiced tuning the timpani, mallet technique, rolling and dampening the drum all of which requires significant practice. A big thank you to Owen for spending this time with our students and we look forward to hearing about his future musical endeavours.
