Year 12 Studio Arts
Congratulations to the Year 12 Studio Arts class for completing their final artworks. To celebrate this achievement we present a photo gallery of select works.
In Unit 3, each student chose their own theme which provided the focus for their folio through the year. Theme choices were diverse, ranging from Paranoia to Racism, Identity, Characters, Life, Hope, Faith, City Night Lights, Self-loathing, Depression, K-pop and Dance, Animal Traits, Emotion and Masks and Women in Mythology. The students then determined which artform would best suit their artistic intentions. This year the students developed their artworks through painting, drawing, ceramics, textiles, printmaking, mixed media and digital art.
Thank you to these students for sharing their art and studio experience: Ryder Bell-Brown, Faith Famillarin, Hayley Hall, Zarin Hussaini, Tarniesha Matiasi, Alyssa Pedersen, Zavea Puk, Cherish Quinton, Jhaymie Sanchez, Govanna Villella and Mikaylah Williams-Semisi.

Cert II Cookery VET
This year the Cert 2 Cookery VET students has dedicated their time in making the graduation cookies for the Year 12 students. More than 200 cookies were produced in a 6-hour day operation. We are very proud of the outcomes. Their teamwork was on display in their first BIG day long cook, which put them on their feet for long hours as expected in the industry.
A big congratulations to all VET students who have been working tirelessly this term to finish up their assessments before the deadlines. Well done!!!
Enterprise Program
This week selected students had the exciting opportunity to attend Casey Tech School to take part in their Enterprise Program along with students from Alkira Secondary College and Cranbourne East Secondary College. Over three days, our students collaborated in groups, investigated real world opportunities, developed STEAM and Enterprise skills, engaged in design thinking, built prototypes and pitched their solutions to an audience which included industry professionals and a representative from Casey Council.
Our students developed solutions to problems relating to mental health in teens, the disconnect between teens and local council, and various disabilities. For example, one group created a virtual reality ‘room’ for students to use when they are experiencing anxiety or sensory overload! Many solutions were so innovative, some are actually being presented to Casey Council for further consideration! We are immensely proud of our students.
Awards Ceremony and Afternoon Tea
On Wednesday we held an afternoon tea and awards ceremony for students who have shown incredible commitment towards their learning, outstanding/improved attendance, and our values of Learning, Respect and Working Together. Families were invited to attend, students received certificates for their efforts, and former HPSC student Adrian Noronho from the class of 2003 recorded a message for our students!
Congratulations to all of our award recipients and thank you for your efforts this year!

Rocket Launch!
Last week our Year 8 Science Inquiry class had the opportunity to launch their very own rockets! Students applied Newtons Laws to their rockets, timing how long it took for the rocket to reach its highest point, and then how long it took for the rocket to fall. The students then used this information and photos they took during the experiment to create a force diagram!
Animal House:
The HPSC Animal House, home to many different creatures from rabbits to mice, birds to lizards, welcomes a new fantastic beast; meet Gloria the Goliath Stick Insect!
Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP)
In Term 3, ten students from Year 8 were selected to take part in the Victorian High-Ability Program (VHAP) 2022. This program was designed for students who demonstrated high ability in mathematics/English through their NAPLAN results and their performance in these subjects at school.
Hampton Park Secondary College would like to congratulate the following students on their completion of the VHAP program in Term 3:
- Jez Louie Camanga (Maths)
- Nicky Cu (Maths)
- Rheya Goetjens (Maths)
- Shegofah Hussaini (Maths)
- Tom Mung (Maths)
- Mariana Pavlovski (English)
- Revica Rawat (English)
- Yusra Sadaat (Maths)
- Akasha Vitale (Maths)
- Nawaz Karimi (English)
Each week, these students collaborated with like-minded peers from neighbouring Victorian government schools through virtual lessons taught by expert Virtual School Victoria educators.
During the sessions they were pushed out of their comfort zone and challenged to complete tasks aimed at stimulating their critical thinking, problem solving and creativity – thereby enriching their understanding of English and/or mathematics. Early feedback related to the program has been positive, and the participating students are confident that they will be able to transfer the skills they acquired from the program to their regular classes.
We are also excited to announce that eight Year 7 & 8 students have been enrolled in the VHAP program in Term 4. We can’t wait to see the amazing work produced by the following students:
- Mohammad Mahdi Amini (Maths)
- Maceon Armstrong (English)
- Shasta Mithi Dio (English)
- Kavin Guduru (English)
- Zeba Mohseni (English)
- Ali Ramazani (Maths)
- Akasha Vitale (English)
- Zainab Yadgar (Maths)
