Interschool Sports Program

2022 was the first time since 2019, that we have had the opportunity to have a full year of sport here at MECS. Last year we transitioned to the Christian Schools Event Network (CSEN) which was a new an exciting time for the school. Unfortunately, we were unable to fully experience this move until this year. CSEN also transitioned from a term sport model to a semester sport model this year which has meant teams have had more games and more time to further unwrap their gifts and talents or even learn new skills. This opportunity provides a rich learning opportunity in the field of sport.

Along with semester sport, students were able to compete at the CSEN swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals. This was the first year we have competed at the CSEN athletics carnival since moving competitions. This was held at Lakeside Stadium in the City and the students were positive examples and we managed to be the Division C Champions in our first year of competing.

We continue to see an increase in participation numbers which saw a record number of teams competing for MECS in interschool sport through our Year 7/8 sport program in Semester two. Students are provided with a range of options to participate in along with rally days in Term 4. Throughout the year, our students have represented the school well with the aim to be a witness for God through sport. Congratulations to all students who have been involved and we look forward to seeing how we can continue to improve going into 2023.
