Association EGM

Last Thursday evening, our Theatrette was packed with Association members as we met for our EGM. Highlights of the meeting were hearing Shayne Evans, from Stanton Dahl Architects, introduce and explain our Infrastructure Masterplan as well as being able to recognise the long service of Dr. Jodi Williams and Sue de Pyle who have given 19 years of service to our school. We also had the opportunity to hold the Mountain District Community in prayer as we all lamented the close of this beautiful school community at the end of this year.

We look forward to sharing more about our new Masterplan with our community over the coming months. The developments planned over the next 15 years are bold and exciting, as we develop and equip our MECS campus with the buildings and facilities needed for the next 30 years of faithful teaching learning.

It was great to have so many Association members present, with a great spirit of community and expectation about the future. Many commented on the strong sense of faithfulness and commitment to the vision and values that makes MECS unique.

Staffing for 2023

Our staffing team here and at Ranges TEC, is nearly complete for next year and we hope to communicate all the details with you in the next week or so. As always, we thank God for the provision of just the right people at the right time in what is often a complex puzzle. Please pray that the final people and positions will come together smoothly in the coming days.

Year 12s ‘Muckeration Day’

As in previous years, we had a fabulous ‘Muckeration Day’ last Thursday. Many other schools find this a difficult day to navigate, whereas at MECS we are so proud of the way our students choose to celebrate the end of their schooling. The activities of the day not only provide opportunity for reflection and celebration, but also some fun and organised mischief! The respect that students show to other students, staff and our facilities means everyone can have a great day! Our prayers are with them as they sit their exams over the next few weeks and then we look forward to a final celebration on Saturday 19 November at their graduation evening.
