Teaching and Learning

School Wide Positive Behaviour

Our Digital Technologies room will be finalised shortly and is looking fantastic.

Our students now have a large new room dedicated to our STEM

(Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) program which includes  benches that have a whiteboard tabletop and movable tables for collaborating and brainstorming. This will be a great environment for our students to design, create, problem solve and develop their critical and creative thinking. Students will be using coding programs, Virtual Reality Glasses, Lego Mindstorms, and Arduinos to design and engineer projects. Later in the year, we will be working closely with the TECH school located in Berwick to provide greater learning opportunities for our students.  We will continue to grow this space every year and the various programs will support our students in developing their skills to support their future careers pathways.

We have revamped our VCAL program and our students are excited to have a more hands on learning environment and excursions to put their learning into practice. Our VCAL students have attended a high ropes course and inflatable water park for their first excursion and will be attending the grand prix in an upcoming excursion. Students will have the chance to immerse themselves in the world of Formula One and get captivated by the innovative technology that governs the sport.

We have also redesigned our Work Related Skills (WRS) class, which now involves students putting their WRS learning into practice through projects around the school. Each class WRS class will focus on a community project that will benefit the Lyndhurst Secondary College community.

Our staff have been increasing their knowledge of the new Respectful Relationships curriculum through professional learning both at the end of last year and at the beginning of this year. We will have updates throughout the year of what students are learning in the Respectful Relationships curriculum. Our school is focussed on building on the culture of respect for all members of our school community, which will further support s our School Wide Positive Behaviour Supports (SWPBS) program.
