Art Competition

Students have once again been invited to take part in the 'Grow your Ideas' art competition hosted by Lynbrook  Village.

The theme this year will be Culture incorporating peace, our community and environment.  All students are encouraged to enter a piece of artwork depicting their own creative interpretation of this and submit in A3 format before the end of term (Thursday 28th March).

The final date to submit work is Friday 6th April but as the deadline is during school holidays, any students who need the extra time to finish will have to drop their artwork off to Lynbrook  Village by the deadline in their own time during the school holidays.

Good Luck, we are really looking forward to seeing some amazing creations!

Open Night

Our College Open Night will be taking place on Wednesday 18th April.  We know this will be a very exciting evening as we share news on all of our achievements and the fantastic opportunities new prospective families and students will have in 2018 and 2019.

The evening will start at 7:00pm in the College Library with an engaging and interactive program planned, please come and see why we should be your number one choice of school in Cranbourne.

Congratulations to our very own nominee

The Casey Australia Day Awards have been proudly celebrating remarkable Casey citizens since 1981. Every year, when our nation celebrates Australia Day, Casey celebrates the achievements and contributions of eminent Casey citizens at the Casey Australia Day Awards.

The Awards profile leading citizens and groups, either professional or voluntary, who are role models for us all. They inspire us through their achievements and challenge us to make our own contribution to creating a better Casey.

These awards provide the opportunity to recognise individuals and we are proud to congratulate our very own Mrs. Carroll, who was nominated in 2017 for her work around the ACE program. Mrs. Carroll initiated and managed a new community service program for Year 7 students in 7A.

Students visited Lynbrook Kindergarten, Lifeview Willow Wood Residential Care Home and Mums Supporting Families in Need to gain valuable experience and learn new skills. The program has also helped the College to build partnerships with these local organisations and develop stronger community relationships.  Mrs. Carroll who is a Teacher of Maths, Science and Biology has recently gained the role for 2018 of Community and Innovation Leader and is working at redeveloping the VCAL program.  Furthermore, Mrs. Carroll has been heavily involved in implementing Digital Technology and STEM into the college curriculum.

Mrs. Carroll’s passion and dedication to her work at Lyndhurst Secondary College has inspired many of her colleagues who nominated her for the Casey Awards in 2017.

Mrs. Carroll says “My goal is for all students to see their potential and embrace all of the opportunities offered to them. You never know what you will encounter when you are a teacher, every day is different and you learn something new each time you work with these young people which is very satisfying. I love making a “difference” to so many students lives.

We are thankful to have such wonderful teachers at Lyndhurst Secondary College.
