Our new School Captains completed their first formal role, welcoming returning and new students at our whole school assembly in week one. They presented a Captains' Address that reminded students how the actions and choices of the whole school community reinforced our school motto that 'Every student matters, every staff member cares and every opportunity taken.'
We had many families and students join us on Monday 11th February at the VCE Unit 3/4 and VCAL Intermediate & Senior Information Night. The purpose of the evening was to build relationships between the college, students and their immediate support teams in order to establish common expectations and provide advice of how best to help students achieve their goals.
The evening began with a welcome, the introduction of the VCAL and VCE Support Team and overview of the VCE / VCAL requirements. Following the introduction parents were invited to attend sessions run by each of the Unit 3/4 & VCAL subject teachers. These sessions were designed for parents to have the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers and provide important information directly to the parents in relation to their subject.
The sessions were designed to open the communication channels between staff and parents and ensure the parents have an understanding of what is expected of their child so that we can work with them as a team.
Our Unit 3 Psychology students have been putting theory into action through the completion of a series of tasks developing their understanding of the nervous system. They certainly enjoyed the opportunity to complete these experiments to ad context to their understanding.
